Thanks to the support of our Northwood Families and our Napa Community we have raised almost $17,000 for Joe's Path!

The Northwood Parent Family Club is raising money to rebuild the path where Joseph Horn walked daily. This "Fund A Need" campaign will celebrate and honor our former student Joe Horn.

The Horn family spent many hours donating their time to Northwood Elementary School. Joe's dad, Daryl, was often the emcee at our annual fundraising event. Mom Denise spent countless hours volunteering in classes, chairing the Twilight Auction Event and serving on the Parent Family Club Board as Vice President and President. The path will be used by Northwood Elementary School students as well as students from Redwood Middle School who frequently take it to walk home. The fields surrounding the path are used by the Napa Community for soccer games and other outdoor events.

Joe and Daryl Horn were tragically killed in a car accident along with two other family members in November of 2017. Joe was a student at Northwood Elementary from Kindergarten in 2010 until he graduated 5th grade in 2015 and was a current Redwood Middle School student. His two older siblings were also Northwood Eagles and Daryl and Denise were very active volunteers in the school and community.

To make a tax deductible donation to help build Joe's Path please click on the link below, or you can make checks out to "Northwood PFC" and drop them by our school office.

Enjoy a meal at your favorite restaurant with other Northwood families and raise money for our students at the same time!  Once a month a generous eating establishment in Napa donates a portion of the proceeds from lunch and/or dinner to Northwood when families bring in a flyer. Look for updates in the PFC Newsletter!

Message from the Horn Family

Thank you to the Northwood PFC and the greater Northwood community for your efforts in supporting the development of “Joe’s Path.”  We are deeply touched that people recognized the beautiful person that Joe was, and our hearts are warmed by the fact that so many people really understood our Joe.  Also, Joe’s Path is not only a touching tribute to Joe, but it is something that will be a comfort to our family for years to come.  We continue to be amazed by the generosity of our community.  Our hearts are full.

PFC Fundraising Events

The Jog-a-thon is one of three major fundraisers at Northwood Elementary School. The Jog-a-thon takes place at the beginning of the school year and is a fun and fit way for the entire school to get involved with fundraising. When the students are doing their laps, parents and faculty are there to cheer them on and support our school. Students raise money and earn prizes and the chance to participate in fun activities. We hope to see you at the Northwood Jog-a-thon! For more information, please contact Nicole Carty.

The Read-a-thon is the second of three major fundraisers for Northwood School. This fundraiser serves two purposes, focusing on encouraging daily reading and raising funds for our school.

Reading with your child or siblings and reading to each other, are two great ways to accumulate minutes on your reading log. Prizes for minutes read are distributed weekly and prizes for pledges collected will be distributed at our prize assembly. Get Hooked on Books!

Twilight in the Vineyards

The event features live and silent auctions full of fabulous items accompanied by a sit down dinner followed by dancing.  Contributions benefit all of the children of Northwood Elementary School! Proceeds enable the school to provide funding support for art, science, field trips and other programs that have been affected due to budget constraints.
